1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using MetaDocu (metadocu.com), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our service.
2. Service Description
MetaDocu provides a free, browser-based document metadata scanning, editing, and cleaning tool. All file processing occurs locally in your browser using WebAssembly technology. We do not provide server-side file storage or processing.
3. User Responsibilities & Warranties
You represent, warrant, and agree that you are solely responsible for: (a) all files and content you choose to process using our tool; (b) ensuring you possess all necessary legal rights, licenses, and permissions to modify the metadata of and process any documents; (c) ensuring that the documents you process do not violate any third-party copyrights, trademarks, patents, trade secrets, or any other proprietary or legal rights; (d) maintaining secure backups of your original files before using the tool. You agree to bear all legal, civil, and criminal liabilities, and fully indemnify MetaDocu and its creators for any third-party claims or lawsuits resulting from your processing, transmission, or distribution of unauthorized, illegal, or infringing content.
4. Intellectual Property
All content, design, code, and branding of MetaDocu are the intellectual property of MetaDocu. You retain full ownership of all documents you process through our tool. We claim no rights over your files or their content.
5. Disclaimer of Warranties
METADOCU AND ITS CREATORS PROVIDE THE SERVICE "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, SECURITY, OR ACCURACY. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, COMPLETELY ERROR-FREE, OR OF ANY ASSURED QUALITY, OR THAT ALL METADATA TRACES WILL BE SUCCESSFULLY OR COMPLETELY STRIPPED OR SANITIZED FROM EVERY DOCUMENT. YOUR USE OF THIS SERVICE IS ENTIRELY AT YOUR OWN SOLE RISK AND DISCRETION.
6. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL METADOCU OR ITS DEVELOPERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, PUNITIVE, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OF ANY KIND (INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, LOSS OF BUSINESS INFORMATION, LOSS OF DATA, FILE CORRUPTION, OR PRIVACY BREACHES ARISING FROM INCOMPLETE METADATA STRIPPING), EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. IN NO EVENT SHALL THE TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY OF METADOCU OR ITS DEVELOPERS EXCEED ZERO DOLLARS ($0.00).
7. Modifications to Service
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the service at any time without prior notice. We are not liable for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation.
8. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.
9. Complete Intellectual Property Infringement Disclaimer & Indemnification
MetaDocu provides an offline, client-side, browser-local utility. We do not host, check, or control the documents you import. You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless MetaDocu and its creators from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or in any way connected with your violation of any third-party intellectual property rights (including copyrights, trademarks, patents, or trade secrets) through your use of this tool. Your use of this tool to process any infringing, unauthorized, or illegal material is entirely at your own risk.
