Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2, 2025

1. Introduction

MetaDocu ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our website and services at metadocu.com.

2. Core Privacy Principle: 100% Local Processing

MetaDocu is architecturally designed so that your documents are NEVER uploaded to any server. All file parsing, metadata scanning, editing, and cleaning operations are executed entirely within your browser's local WebAssembly sandbox. We have no server-side file storage infrastructure and no mechanism to access, read, or transmit your document content.

3. Information We Collect

We do NOT collect, store, or process any of your document files or their content. The only information we may collect includes: (a) basic website analytics via Google Analytics (page views, browser type, approximate geographic region) to improve our service; (b) a locale preference cookie (NEXT_LOCALE) to remember your language selection.

4. Cookies

We use a minimal set of cookies: (a) NEXT_LOCALE — stores your preferred language (en or zh-CN), valid for 1 year; (b) Google Analytics cookies — used for anonymous traffic analysis. You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time.

5. Third-Party Services

We use Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager to understand website traffic patterns. These services may collect anonymized usage data. We do not share any personal or document-related information with third parties.

6. Data Security

Since your files never leave your device, the risk of data breach through our service is fundamentally eliminated. Your documents exist only in your browser's local memory during processing and are discarded when you close the page or clear the session.

7. Children's Privacy

Our service is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.

9. User-Uploaded Content & Infringement Exemption

Because our tools operate 100% locally within your browser using WebAssembly technology, we do not upload, transmit, or store any file content on our servers. As a result, we have no physical control over, access to, or ability to inspect or block the content you process. You must ensure you have lawful rights and authorizations for all processed content. MetaDocu explicitly disclaims any and all liability for third-party intellectual property or copyright infringements arising from files processed or shared by users.
